At Doolan Callaghan Family Lawyers, we excel in negotiating. We understand the importance to most clients of obtaining the best possible outcome in property and financial matters and we make it our business to ensure we achieve that on behalf of our clients. We do this professionally, efficiently and with understanding and respect.
In children’s and parenting matters, the best interests of the children are paramount, and we are highly experienced in assisting clients, with the aid of mediation where necessary, in negotiating arrangements that are workable, suit the needs of the child or children and give our clients peace of mind that they have achieved the best possible solution for their children following the separation of their parents.
Negotiated settlements usually involve the exchange of correspondence between lawyers, together with phone calls and where suitable, round-table settlement conferences. Clients may also wish to take our advice on board, and then have direct discussions with their former partner to try and reach an agreement themselves. This often works very well. Other clients prefer not to discuss matters directly with their former partner and prefer for us to do this, often through the other person’s lawyer, on their behalf. In our experience, this is one of the most common scenarios adopted to assist our clients to successfully reach a resolution in their family law matter.
We are flexible in the approach we adopt, depending on the nature of your matter. We listen to our client’s needs and then together, work out the best approach. If you need our assistance, please contact us.
