Experience:

Kate is a family lawyer, family dispute resolution practitioner and mediator.  Kate has studied both law and psychology and is passionate about providing family law advice and assistance to her clients in a way that takes into account the trauma and psychological impact that separation and divorce can have.

Kate began her career within a litigation team at a general practice firm.  In this role she gained experience in criminal law (including AVO’s), employment law, civil litigation and disputes involving wills and estates.   Most importantly in this role Kate gained understanding of how difficult and at times traumatic it is for parties to move through litigation and a legal process.  Kate subsequently moved into family law where she has worked with numerous clients as they navigate parenting and property settlement post separation.

In her role as a Senior Family Lawyer Kate is passionate about helping parents work towards what is in the best interests of their children and navigate the myriad of challenges that can arise when parenting post separation.  Kate works hard to minimises unnecessary conflict and ineffective communication and is always mindful of working to protect children from harmful conflict and protracted exposure to legal processes.

In property matters, Kate is focussed on finding practical and fair settlements that give her clients the best possible platform on which to build for their future. Kate leaves no stone unturned to ensure that all financial areas are dealt with transparently and clearly and is mindful of creating practical and sustainable settlements that work towards meeting the immediate and long term needs of her clients.

Kate is also trained as a mediator and dispute resolution practitioner. In her role as a Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution practitioner, Kate is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and confidential environment where parties can come to address their conflicts and find resolutions.    Kate believes that every family is unique and therefore requires a personalised approach when resolving their disputes.  Kate is experienced in mediating both parenting and property matters and works hard to assist parties as they attempt to find agreement whether in relation to what is best for their children moving forward, or in relation to the optimal way to achieve financial separation.

Kate lives on the Northern Beaches with her 5 children and husband.  She loves ocean swimming, gardening, and interior design.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you in your family law matter
